PointBridge, an IT consulting firm that specializes in building high-impact business solutions with Microsoft technology, was recently recognized by Microsoft as a Cloud Innovator in Microsoft’s Partner Network Race to Innovate contest. The Race to Innovate contest awards partners who complete the most Microsoft Office 365 deployments among Enterprise Accounts (customers greater than 2,500 seats) and Corporate Accounts (customers between 250 and 2,499 seats.)
Cloud Innovators provide game-changing solutions and paradigm-shifting ideas. Twelve Microsoft partners will be recognized from July to December 2011 and will compete in the grand prize round for the championship title.
Founded in 2004, PointBridge was launched when three key executives formed a plan with a single purpose: to help large enterprises maximize their return. The co-founders, Mike Gersten, chief executive officer; Lance Russell, director of marketing and operations; and Todd Golden, director of alliances; had a vision as to where the industry was going and knew it was time to get on board with cloud computing.
Despite the conventional wisdom of the time that IT solutions — and IT consultants — required large data centers, expensive hardware and on-going investments in software upgrades, PointBridge took a different approach. PointBridge would find solutions in the cloud.

But, in what is becoming a familiar refrain in this new era of IT, it is not only about swapping the desktop software client for a cloud-hosted version. Companies are finding that Office 365 offers new opportunities for not only cost savings, but also increased productivity.
“We have migrated between 150,000 to 200,000 seats to the cloud,” said Mike Gersten, CEO and co-founder of PointBridge. “And, they all had varying motivations. Cost-cutting is certainly a motivator, but scalability, flexibility … those make the move to the cloud an easy decision for companies."
