PointBridge Chosen as Top Finalist for the 2008 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award in Citizenship
Today, PointBridge, a leading Microsoft solutions provider, announced it has been selected as a finalist for the Microsoft Partner of the Year award in Citizenship.

“We are very excited to receive this honor from Microsoft,” said Mike Gersten, chief executive officer and co-founder, PointBridge. “As a firm we are committed to improving the overall community in which we live in a twofold manner - through the exceptional technical expertise that we are able to contribute in kind and via monthly charitable donations as suggested by our employees as a whole.”

Awards will be presented in a number of categories, with winners chosen from a pool of more than 2,000 entrants worldwide. The Citizenship Partner of the Year award recognizes exceptional partners that have made a sustained commitment to society and their communities and can demonstrate the impact of their work. The winning partner has worked with a nonprofit entity in an innovative way to empower underserved communities by giving access to technology or technology skills training, and will have made a unique and positive impact in making the knowledge economy more accessible.

“Partners are critical to delivering rich business solutions and innovative excellence to customers,” said Allison Watson, Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Partner Group, Microsoft. “Congratulations to the 2008 Partner Award winners who have each demonstrated innovation beyond measure and an unswerving commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction. We look forward to these partners continuing to raise the bar in the design and deployment of customer solutions built on Microsoft technologies.”

Microsoft recognizes PointBridge specifically for the work it has completed with both America’s Second Harvest, the nation’s largest charitable hunger relief organization and the Council for Adult Experiential Learning (CAEL), a non-profit that expands learning opportunities for adults. The project at America’s Second Harvest resulted in building a new collaboration platform based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 – allowing the organization to increase its knowledge sharing capabilities as well as the productivity of the organization's employees and its 200 member food banks. For CAEL, PointBridge again turned to MOSS to build a Document Management System (DMS) to enhance its tuition reimbursement process, resulting in the firm’s ability to double the amount of educational opportunities it could provide its adult learning community.

“Integrity is clearly listed as a PointBridge core value, and this award demonstrates that we find ways to make successful those companies whose values align closely to ours,” said Todd Golden, director of alliances and co-founder, PointBridge.

The Microsoft Partner Program Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions over the past year.
