SharePoint 2007 Upgrade Accelerator

PointBridge created the SharePoint 2007 Upgrade Accelerator to turbocharge upgrades to Microsoft’s groundbreaking new release. Designed to enable organizations that currently run SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 2.0, to reduce upgrade project risk, the SharePoint Upgrade Accelerator also speeds time-to-deployment.

The Upgrade Challenge
Upgrading to SharePoint 2007 presents unique challenges. The SharePoint Upgrade Accelerator eliminates common migration hurdles by taking into account SharePoint solution characteristics that may require special attention during an upgrade including:

  • Migrating customized lists, sites and pages (unghosted pages)
  • Updating custom code for events, alerts and search
  • Integrating custom web-parts and third-party add-ons

As with all software upgrades, a SharePoint 2007 upgrade requires the appropriate migration approach and a plan for a reliable and scalable infrastructure to support your new SharePoint 2007 environment.

    The PointBridge Solution
Using the SharePoint Upgrade Accelerator, PointBridge helps your organization execute a seamless migration that saves time and leverages new functionality while preserving your existing content and applications. The PointBridge solution is a fixed time, fixed price engagement that culminates in a five-part deliverable comprised of a:

    1. Current state assessment
    2. High-level infrastructure design
    3. Migration approach

The engagement typically spans two business weeks and delivers an actionable path forward.
